Here at Goodstart Early Learning Mackay Bridge Street we are one of two purpose built ABC centres in the Mackay Region. Our centre is located close to the city, schools, base hospital and airport. We strive to provide 100 children with quality childcare each and every day. We feel we have a warm, welcoming environment in which your child is cared for and nurtured.
Our centre is one of the largest ABC centres in the Mackay Region due to being a double centre. We are a two building centre joined in the middle by our very own car park. The Babyworld side consists of two Nursery Rooms and one Toddler Room and the main centre contains four rooms ranging from Toddler through to Preschool. Our centre offers families the convenience of starting in the Nursery and continuing throughout the years on to Preschool.

Hi, my name is Tamika Bidgood. I have been in the childcare industry for ten years where I have worked my way from a trainee assistant to Centre Director - a role I've held for the past two and a half years. My journey through the ranks has provided me with a vast amount of experience which enables me to provide parents with support and peace of mind when introducing their children into childcare.
I have recently completed my Advanced Diploma of Children's Services and enjoy my position immensely. I have been Centre Director here at Goodstart Early Learning Mackay Bridge Road for over a year and enjoy every single day. I have the benefit of being a part of an enormous family where help is given, taken and used to ensure quality care is provided to each child here at the centre.
I believe that every child is a unique individual and that there are no two children alike. Each child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn and develop at their own pace because this is the most important stage in any person’s life. Knowing that I have assisted a child in accomplishing any stage of their development brings a certain kind of happiness to my life that nothing else can.
Hi, my name is Melinda Zahra and I am the Centre Director at I am moving into my third year as Centre Director and I am currently working on completing my Advanced Diploma of Children's Services.
have worked in childcare for the past ten years, including seven years with Goodstart Early Learning as a Group Leader. I began my career as a nanny and believe that this is where my strong family orientated work ethic stems from.
I have such a fun and vibrant team who share my love for children. Even young babies respond to their enthusiasm. It's obvious from the wonderful bonds the staff and children have created.
