About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Toowoomba - Spring Street.

Our award-winning teachers lead a fun, play-based program in our cosy centre that's renowned for its country home feel. Our children enjoy home-cooked meals, they can explore shaded outdoor spaces, and families join our cultural and gardening activities.

At Goodstart Early Learning Childcare Centre Toowoomba Spring Street, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care all under the one roof. We are also conveniently located to make the daily drop-off and pick-up simple and stress free.

Catering to children aged from 12 months to six years, our centre has a comprehensive program offered through rooms from Toddlers to Kindergarten.

Our longstanding Kindergarten Teacher has been awarded the Goodstart Queensland State 2022 and 2023 Award, for her consistently exceptional program and ensures an engaging, child lead, play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life. We are consistently enabling excellent learning environments!

Our beautiful centre has been converted from a large family home giving it a “Small Country Home” feel. We have a large, well-appointed kitchen where nourishing home cooked meals are prepared by our qualified Chef. Our rooms are all planned and set out to complement the curriculum and learning themes with colour, fun and sensory play giving the children many learning opportunities.

Outside, we have large well-established trees and beautifully shaded play areas providing space where the children can engage in activities that are stimulating and fun.

Family input is one of our core values at Spring Street and we encourage family participation through special days such as Mother’s, Father’s and Grandparents' Day. We also encourage our parents to participate within our centre sharing their skills and talents such as music, art, and cooking.

We celebrate cultural events with flair, while focusing on a year of Indigenous inclusions, connecting with cultural mentors who visit us fortnightly to run workshops and who educate our staff. We connect with Country every day through our yarning circle with totem poles, while we offer a bush garden with living trees; oranges, mandarins, lemons, limes, avocado, apples, blackberry, Lilli Pilli, native guava and seasonal veggies. On top of all of this, we also have chickens in our enclosed section of the bush garden, with a worm farm and composting.

If your child attends childcare with us, they can stay with us until they start school. At Goodstart Toowoomba - Spring Street we offer a government-assessed and approved kindergarten program. This curriculum is designed as a part of the Australian government's early years learning framework and it's delivered by bachelor-qualified early childhood teachers. This early education program applies across the country with school readiness in mind.

My name is Charmaine and I am a Bachelor Qualified Teacher, and your Centre Director.

Welcome to Goodstart Toowoomba - Spring Street!

My name is Charmaine Green, and I have the honour of leading our boutique and homely community here in Toowoomba - Spring Street, on the land of the Jagera, Giabal and Jarowair people. With 12 years of experience in early childhood education and care, I'm deeply passionate about creating an environment where every child can thrive and discover their unique potential.

My background

I began my journey in Toowoomba when I came to Australia to study my early childhood education and care degree, which ignited my passion for early learning. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to support our team in achieving a state award for ‘Consistently Enabling Excellent Learning Environments’ within Goodstart.

My early childhood philosophy

I believe children are magical and the more time we spend with them, the more the magic rubs off on you. For me, it's all about maintaining the magic and ensuring everyone who walks into our centre feels supported and happy.

Goodstart Toowoomba - Spring Street is special because of our boutique country family home style centre which feels, smells and sounds like a home with a massive yard. Every day, I'm inspired by the smiles, laughter, and learning that happen within our walls.
