Goodstart Carlton

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Carlton is a beautiful heritage-listed building located close to residential and industrial areas, convenient to shops, schools and transport routes. 
 
We cater to 59 children each day and we have been operating as a child care centre for more than 20 years. With a range of ages and experience – and educators who have been at the centre more than 20 years – we are focused on providing the highest quality care for children. 
 
Inside, all of the rooms  - from Toddlers to Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Natural, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school. 
  
Our Storypark platform, as well as strong relationships with our families, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre. 
 
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our playgrounds have a beautiful balance of natural elements, and include sandpits, vegetable patches, worm farm, water tank and lots of shade.  We even have a pet turtle and a community garden! 
 
A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. 
  
Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.  Our families are always welcome, and we hold regular opportunities for family involvement such as Mother's, Father's and Grandparent's Day, Sports Day's, ‘Big School Play Date’, Book Fairs and End of Year Concerts.
