About Goodstart Oxenford Riversdale Road
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Oxenford Riversdale Road offers care for children aged six weeks to five years old in a caring and nurturing environment. We have a great team of educators within the centre, who have been working with us for a number of years, and who are all qualified and dedicated to the children in our care.
We offer an enquiry-based learning program and our early childhood teacher runs the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program, which focuses on skills such as numeracy and literacy. Run in conjunction with Oxenford State School, the program aims to prepare children for school.
Programs on offer at Oxenford are developed using the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines which support children to become resilient, independent, imaginative and confident learners. Our aim is to empower children to explore and engage in their own learning through a play based curriculum with the guidance of mature, caring and knowledgeable educators.
Our rooms – Nursery to Kindergarten – as well as our outdoor play areas are all designed and set up daily to present children with a wonderful array of stimulating and fun experiences. We have a vegetable patch with two orange trees, two lemon trees, and cucumber and capsicums currently growing.
The recent introduction of the online platform Storypark allows educators to document and share children’s learning with families easily and efficiently whilst providing real-time opportunities to connect and communicate with families.
Our centre is working towards implementing sustainable practices, taking part in tree planting days, and recycling. Extra-curricular activities include Ginger Sport soccer and Little Ripper athletics.
We would love to welcome your family to our centre. Please come along and say hello.
We provide early learning & care to these groups:
Tameika Smith Centre Director
Hi, my name is Tameika Smith and I am the Centre Director here at Goodstart Oxenford Riversdale Road. I currently hold my Diploma of Children’s Services and I have been working in the childcare industry for 15 years.
I have two daughters of my own and I feel this has provided me with the ability to make decisions based from a personal and professional level. My goal as a Centre Director is to create a fun, safe and friendly learning environment for all children and educators.
I feel it is very important for our centre to be involved in the local community and look forward to working closely with community members, families and educators to offer each and every child a good start to life.
