About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Bayview Heights is nestled in a quiet residential area with the convenience of shops, schools and transport routes nearby.  Our centre provides care from 6 weeks to 5 years.

Goodstart Bayview Heights vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as one of the world’s oldest continuing living cultures. Our team of educators value the importance of respectfully teaching about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures to our children. The children and educators at our service will continue to participate in acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s daily.

Our team of educators are full qualified, ranging from certificate 3 through to Bachelor qualified.

We are fortunate to have some bi- and multi-lingual Educators who share their culture with the children through experiences such as cooking, singing, and dancing.

Environments inside and out - from Nursery to Kindergarten - are set up in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines. With sensory play-based learning opportunities as well as in-depth social and emotional support for all children at the for fount of everyday interactions. Stimulating surrounding ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning, as well as Key Educator Approach and the circle of security delivered to all children and families within our care.

We communicate with families through our intuitive Storypark platform, as well as via emails, newsletters, and quality face-to-face conversations and meetings. We regularly host centre open days for families to attend, and also invite parents to spend time at the centre helping us with experiences with the children.

We provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day.  We now offer flexible session times to ensure you are maximizing your Child Care Subsidy so speak to us for more information on this.

Paula Dickson

Centre Director

Hello, my name is Paula Dickson, I have been working in Early Years since 1991, to which I have been in a leadership capacity for over 25 years.

Working in the industry for such a long period of time has given me the vast experience and knowledge to help support and mentor the children and educators of today. I believe a village raises a child, and in this village, there are many people that support and give the ability to help children with the best outcomes for life.

I understand that all families are different, but in our village, we treat them on their individual needs. Inclusion is about belonging, as a child, as a family, as an educator and as a community.

When people belong, they thrive because they feel safe, nurtured and valued. This is what Goodstart wants to achieve for all children and families, in every centre and every community. (Marham, 2016) I look forward to meeting you all in person when you visit.
