About our centre

Goodstart Deer Park has been a part of the local Deer Park community since 1999. We are a warm and friendly centre. As all our educators have children of their own, they are able to provide much experience to the children and families within this community.

Goodstart Deer Park is a very multicultural centre with many families that have recently migrated to Australia. Our centre is located on the corner of Ballarat and Station roads, and accessible to local shops, schools and public transport.

We have a very experienced group of staff, many who have been with the centre for 5 – 10 years. Our friendly staff are the major reason why families have such a great relationship with our centre. Our staff, like our families, also come from a range of different cultural backgrounds and many speak a second language. This provides great opportunities for the children to learn more about other languages and cultures.

Our centre is very family orientated and we have social family nights where we invite families to bring a plate and get to know staff and other families at the centre. Families love this interaction. Also, because many of our families come from migrant backgrounds, as well as providing a caring and stimulating early learning environment, we also help families to tap into services and resources and activities they might be interested in.

We also have a cook at the centre providing tasty and nutritious meals for the children. We welcome you to come and visit our centre so you can see what makes it so special.

Leesa Bryant

Centre Director

Hello my name is Leesa Bryant and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Deer Park.

I have been in the early childhood industry for over 13 years and I have worked in all positions from centre cook to working with all age groups in the rooms. As a mum of a 12 year old boy I understand the importance of families and their values. I believe that families are the primary carer and we as educators are the secondary carer. I believe that we all work harmoniously together to better educate, love and nurture the children so they can be all they can be. I believe childhood is the most important stage of life as children learn so much during this time and this learning sets them up for a wonderful life.
