About our centre

Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Barber Drive is a passionate, driven team who pride ourselves on providing continuity of care for both children and families.

Our centre consists of eight rooms and three generous sized yards, catering for children from six weeks to five years old.

Our program covers all areas of child development. The children are involved in a variety of daily activities individualised to each children’s preferred learning styles to enhance learning through play.

We offer 2 years of kinder. That's two years of continued high-quality early learning, playing and making friends. Everything your child needs to feel ready for school.

We have received great family feedback in regards to our Kinder program.

We love being able to engage with our families on Storypark sending them live notifications of what their child is achieving throughout the day. This also provides our families with the opportunity to contribute to our program or add their own personalised stories about their children, so we as educators can extend on those interests/needs.

We have built strong relationships in our local community. We have regular visits from the local dentist and a maternal health nurse. We also started excursions where we walk our two and three year old children to the local nursing home, where they engage in activities with the residents. We walk to the local library and the reserve that runs alongside our centre looking at different natural materials.

Janine Ormsby

Centre Director

Hi My name is Janine Ormsby, I am the Centre Director here at Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Barber Drive.

I have been the Centre Director at Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Barber Drive since March 2022 when I was covering a maternity leave position. In November 2022 and was appointed as the permanent Centre Director.

I have my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and care, I have been in the Early childhood industry for the past 21 years all at this centre . I have worked in every room as an Educator and Assistant Director.

I strongly believe believe the first five years of a child’s life is so important to creating the strong, confident individuals ready to accept any challenge and set them up for a successful and bright future.

When I am not working I enjoy caravanning around Australia with family.

At Hoppers Crossing Barber Drive we strive to provide a safe, welcoming and homely environment that engages all of our children’s curiosity and learning.

I take great pride and satisfaction overseeing the Educational Programs and partnerships at Barber Drive.
