Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Jerrabomberra is located in a residential area close to schools, shops and transport.

Our educators ensure each child has a happy, friendly and meaningful experience while in our care. All are qualified and motivated to maintain a high standard of learning for each child through individualised programs, utilising the Early Years Learning Framework.

Inside, all rooms - from Nursery to Preschool - are all set up with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Inspiring and stimulating environments ensure children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; where we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all-important step up to school.

Our two Preschool rooms both run excellent school readiness programs; with lunchbox days introduced in term 4 each year to help families and children prepare themselves for school the following year. We have a close relationship with the local primary school, conducting separate orientation visits to the school’s orientation for the children attending there the following year.
 
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and email updates, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families; ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. The outdoor learning spaces include mud kitchens, sandpits, vegetable patches, creek beds with water pump, timber decking jetty and bridge, amphitheater, pergola and lots of space to run around.

Our wonderful centre cook provides tasty and nutritious meals for the children; rotating between a seasonal 4-week menu that includes children and family input. All meals are inclusive of allergy, intolerance and preferences for children.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
 
Families join together with their children during events such as craft mornings, special parent and grandparent events and the centres end of year celebration.
 
Open nights at our centre also let families come to the centre and discuss programs, practice and have discussions between educators and parents relevant to their child.
