About Goodstart Woodcroft
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Woodcroft is conveniently located in the heart of Woodcroft, close to schools, shops and major transport routes.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.
The children love spending time in our large playground, tending to our centre's vegie patch. Through planting seeds, watering and harvesting the crop, children learn about plants and their lifecycles and also about the responsibility of caring for living things.
The vegies are included in our childcare centre's nutritious lunches and, having helped to grow them; children are keen to try new tastes alongside their friends. Children enjoy adding their scraps to the compost bin and feeding it to the worms in our worm farm.
Our centre welcomes children from a variety of cultures and a number of children with Indian heritage attend. This mix gives children the opportunity to learn more about other cultures, through playing with their friends and special activities. For example, parents are invited to visit and show children how they prepare food from their culture.
Through visits to the centre by other members of the community; as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
Drop in and say hello! We would love to make you and your family welcome and the centre and discuss how we can start your child on a journey of lifelong learning.
