Family Handbook - Our Mission | Goodstart

Our Vision for Reconciliation

Goodstart recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First People of Australia and as the custodians of the land on which our early childhood services are offered.

We acknowledge the link we have with the ancient history of Australia through the land from which our early learning environments have been created. Goodstart is committed to building partnerships based on trust, respect and recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as enduring, living cultures, and we respect and value the cultural insights that we gain as we establish strong links between Goodstart and the children, families and communities with whom we work.

On a foundation of equity, integrity and respect we create high quality early learning experiences for all children. Goodstart commits to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians and supports closing the gap in education and employment.

Goodstart aspires to positively contribute to Australia’s reconciliation journey. Our CEO has signed Goodstart’s Statement of Commitment to develop the actions, timelines and targets of our Reconciliation Action Plan 2014-2017.
