When children from Goodstart Kelso heard about the plight of Australia’s farmers, they decided they wanted to do something to help.
To support the Buy a Cow to Feed a Farmer program they dressed up as farmers and farm animals, and managed to raise $556 during a fundraising activity.
Goodstart's Katrina Ross said the dressed up farmers and animals celebrated with a sausage sizzle for lunch.
The children bought a $2, $5 or $10 cow, with money raised going towards creating and delivering home-cooked meals to farmers and their families.
The cows, which feature the children’s names, will be displayed on a wall at the Bathurst City Community Club.
