Giving back to the community is the aim of the children at Goodstart centres throughout the country.
Goodstart Hoppers Crossing Heaths Road hosted Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to show their support to the Cancer Council Foundation.
The event has helped raise much funds for world class research, prevention programs and support services for cancer patients and their families.
Both the educators and families at the centre provided a selection of food including, home baked muffins, biscuits and sandwiches.
Centre director Linda Naylor said the centre was very proud of their good work.
"It's an awesome feeling to be able to give back to the community and to support an organisation such as the Cancer Council Foundation," Ms Naylor said. “We would like to thank everyone who supported us and contributed to the event. It’s certainly something we’ll be doing again.”
Educators and families from Goodstart Tiber Street Coorparoo banded together to donate blankets, quilts, sheets, towels and more to Zig Zag Young Women’s Resource Centre, a homelessness program for young women.
The appeal was organised by centre director Sarah Teitzel who wanted to give back to the community and help support young women facing difficult times.
Families at Goodstart Tiber Street Coorparoo gave generously to the charity donating two loads of pre-loved items. Kindergarten children from Goodstart Richlands, Little Mountain Mark Road West, Labrador Gordon St, Goulbourn and Rockhampton, hosted a Little Rockers Red Nose Disco in a special fundraising event last month.
The centres joined the campaign to support SIDS and Kids as part of the national Red Nose Day fundraising efforts.
Educators and children got into the spirit of the event by wearing their brightest red and tuning in to the official Little Rockers Red Nose Disco ‘iHeart Radio’ station.
