With the festive season well and truly upon us we’d like to take a moment to thank the thousands of children and families who have offered us continued support throughout the year.
The support we receive allows us the opportunity to do what we love most, and that is to inspire all children to have a lifelong love of learning.
The many people and cultures of Australia are reflected in the diversity of our centres, and the joy of giving and sharing at this time of year has been celebrated in so many ways.
Our centres embrace this time of year, uplifting the spirits of children and families and touching the lives of those less fortunate in their communities.
Here’s a small snapshot of what’s been happening around the Goodstart network as we celebrate the season:
Through these acts of generosity, children are learning there is joy in giving as well as receiving, and building a strong sense of empathy for others. These are all valuable attributes for young children as they prepare for school and beyond.

Here’s a small snapshot of what’s been happening around the Goodstart network as we celebrate the season:
- Goodstart Mount Tamborine is using Christmas as an opportunity to build children’s social and emotional development by encouraging kindness and generosity towards others. This year the centre organised a Christmas hamper drive with children, families and staff generously donating items. The hampers were delivered to a local church where they will to go to families in need.
- Goodstart ANU have been collecting gold coin donations to purchase a ‘gift of compassion’ for struggling families.
- Goodstart Coorparoo Cavendish Road South has joined forces with Uniting Care to collect gifts for those in need and have been overwhelmed by the generosity of families at the centre.
- Goodstart Mount Martha Bentons Road have supported a local charity called Mothers Supporting Families in Need. They have combined their love of literature by asking families to donate new books to the charity for Christmas presents and are already onto their second box of book donations.
- Goodstart Goulburn are helping women in need through the Share the Dignity campaign. The centre’s families have helped to collect items to make gift bags which are given to local charities to collect and distribute to women and children in need.
- Goodstart Andergrove also supported the Share the Dignity campaign and donated over 45 bags filled with goodies and essentials.
- Goodstart Bertram have made a connection with a local charity group called the Margaret Court Community Outreach Program which operates a community pantry and op shop to help people in the Kwinana community. The centre’s families have donated food, clothing and toys to make hampers for those less fortunate.
- Goodstart Cheltenham have donated the proceeds from their annual raffle to the Royal Children's Hospital, creating ten prizes from donated goods and selling over 250 tickets.
Through these acts of generosity, children are learning there is joy in giving as well as receiving, and building a strong sense of empathy for others. These are all valuable attributes for young children as they prepare for school and beyond.
