Goodstart Pimpama unveils centre refurbishment

Goodstart centres

Children at Goodstart Pimpama are enjoying their brand new surroundings with the centre transformed through a major indoor and outdoor refurbishment.

New purpose-built playgrounds, an enhanced indoor learning space, new flooring, bathroom and kitchen upgrades, and an inside and out paint job are the key features of the refurbishment which has breathed new life into the early learning centre.

Centre director Stephanie Kemp said educators and families contributed ideas for the design of the purpose-built spaces with children’s development and interests in mind.

“We had a wonderful landscape design team who brought the design to life to create a state-of-the art playground and outdoor play space. The design focused on more natural elements for children to explore as well as a fixed playground structure to help children develop their physical and gross motor skills,” Ms Kemp said.

“Goodstart is committed to embedding sustainability practices in our centres. We included vegetable gardens and a worm farm to help educate children and increase their engagement with the natural environment.

“The centre looks brand new and the refurbishment allows us to deliver improved services for children, building on our reputation for providing a high standard of quality care. We have received wonderful feedback from our families so it’s a very exciting time for Goodstart Pimpama,” she said.

The centre's indoor space was also transformed and includes a full upgrade of cabinetry which has created more space in the kindergarten room through the removal of walls to open the space, providing an enhanced learning and play space for children.

Goodstart Pimpama is just one of the latest Goodstart Early Learning centres to benefit from an upgrade as part of the not-for-profit organisation’s $27 million investment into improving their centres in 2015-2016.

Families are invited to attend a free family fun day at the centre on Saturday, August 20, from 10am for the official unveiling of the centre. There will also be face and mask painting and a range of fun activities for children.
