Bravery box for little patients at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital

Goodstart centres

Goodstart Coorparoo – Tiber Street is calling on their families and the community to help them raise money towards their ‘Bravery Box’ as a fundraiser for the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

All donations received will be used to purchase toys which will be gifted to the hospital for children who have recently undergone surgery.

Goodstart director Sarah Teitzel said creating this fundraiser was a way to give back to the community to support children and their families in need.

“The idea behind the bravery box is to bring a little bit of joy to children to reward them for their bravery,” Ms Teitzel said.

“Children will be able to choose a toy from the toy collection box after undergoing an operation for being brave. It’s a small gesture, but we hope it’s one that will make a big difference to children and their families during what we can only imagine is a very challenging and emotional time.

“Goodstart is proud to support our community and we thank our families and supporters who will contribute to our Bravery Box fundraiser. It’s the first time we have done something like this, so we are looking forward to making a difference,” she said.

Goodstart Coorparoo, located on 52 Tiber Street in Coorparoo, will be collecting donations from the community up until 3 July. Once they purchase the toys, Goodstart educators and children from the toddler room will make a special visit to the Lady Cilento hospital to donate the toys.

The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in South Brisbane is Australia's largest and most advanced paediatric health facility.
