Tamworth team rallies to get family support

Goodstart centres

Goodstart Tamworth – Hercules Street is on a mission. The team is rallying their families to get behind 10 of their educators who are participating in this years’ Tamworth Relay for Life on April 2.

Of the 24 teams currently registered in Tamworth, Goodstart is currently sitting at the top of the leader board with $2653.52 raised so far.

Centre director Chloe Speck said it was a wonderful cause to get behind.

“The Cancer Council is such a wonderful charity to support – the research, support and advocacy work they do is vital to suppose those in our community who are affected by cancer, which is sadly too many people.

“Being a small centre with only 10 educators and with 56 families, to have already raised more than $2,500 is such wonderful effort and we are very grateful to all our families and others in the community who have already donated,” Ms Speck said.

“We are holding a purple dress day on March 6 and 7 with a gold coin donation to raise money for our Relay for Life team. Over these two days, there will be mini relays and fun activities set up for all children to participate in,” she said.

“It’s a great opportunity to teach children about being compassionate and for them to see that when you work together as a team, you can achieve great things.”

To date, Goodstart Tamworth has organised pie drives, chocolate drives, and raffles, as well as held numerous dress up days as part of their fundraising efforts, and they aren’t stopping there. They are hoping to reach their fundraising goal of $3,000.
