Goodstart will send 30 educators and leaders to attend global conferences and visit prominent early learning organisations in London, Dublin and Los Angeles this year.
The study tour programs include a UK study earlier this month and the Early Years Study Tour which will kick off in August.
The tours will continue the work of social enterprise, Goodstart, and support the delivery of its vision for Australia’s children to have the best possible start in life. This is achieved by reinvesting a large portion of its operating surpluses into improving the quality of early learning services across its network through training and professional development.
Goodstart senior early learning consultant Clare Boschetti and regional manager Rodney Nadwie-Smith spent two weeks in the UK earlier this month observing how high quality practice can influence business performance. Specifically, they focused on learning international best practices in enhancing partnerships and engagement with families.
The Early Years Study Tour will kick off in August, when six Goodstart educators fly to Dublin to attend the European Early Childhood Education Research Association Annual Conference which is the largest and most significant early years' research conference in Europe.
In November, six employees will attend the National Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Conference In Los Angeles, which is the largest early childhood education conference in the world.
A third team will attend the Early Childhood Australia Conference in Darwin in October, which aims to bring culturally diverse perspectives, evidence-based practice, traditions and new thinking together.
On their return, the study tour participants will translate their learnings to suit the Australian market and Goodstart’s specific context, and will be key influencers and leaders of change within Goodstart.
