New outdoor playground offers children more opportunities to explore

New outdoor playground offers children more opportunities to explore

Gone is the tired old yard at Goodstart Forest Lake on Forest Lake Boulevard – in its place, an exciting new playground renovation for the centre’s kindy children to enjoy.

To celebrate, Goodstart is inviting the community to an open day at the centre on Saturday 12 November from 9am-12noon where there will be activities and entertainment for the whole family.

There will be an official ribbon cutting of the new playground, a sausage sizzle, games and activities for children, free face painting, and centre tours for families interested in seeing the programs on offer at Goodstart. The centre director, early learning consultant and early childhood teachers will be there to answer any questions.

Centre director Fiona Ollington said staff are very excited to showcase our wonderful new outdoor play area to the community.

“The renovation has completely lifted the centre’s atmosphere and enhanced the learning play spaces for children. It’s been a great hit with children who love exploring all the new natural elements,” Ms Ollington said.

Features of the new playground include nature-inspired landscaping with artificial turf surfacing, timber decking, cubby house, slide, water mud pit, sand pits, vegetable gardens and so much more through a young child’s eyes.

All interested families are invited to attend the open day.
