Goodstart Clayton

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Clayton is a lovely, warm and welcoming child care centre located in a safe and quiet residential area, close to shops, local schools, and public transport.

Clayton is a very multicultural suburb and many of our families also come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our educators strive to provide the best care and fun educational activities for development of all children at our centre. 

Inside the centre, all of the rooms  - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
 
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We have sandpits, a worm farm, vege patch, compost bin, a fort, bark pit, herb gardens and a balance of manmade and natural play areas as well as plenty of shade.

Our onsite cook prepares a very healthy range of dishes from across the world such as dahl, fried rice and stir fried noodles, to keep hungry tummies satisfied.

We celebrate lots of cultural events including Chinese New Year, Hanukah, Greek National Day, Diwali, Christmas and many others. And we value our connections with the broader community and the enrichment that brings to our children's learning. We hold regular excursion and incursions. All our children have opportunity to attend weekly excursions, every Monday to Clayton Library, Tuesday to Bush Kinder, Wednesday to Bupa Aged Care and Thursdays to Lawn Bowling and Zumbini at the centre.

Family involvement is a valued part of our program at Goodstart Clayton and we encourage all parent and family input and suggestions. We also have a thorough orientation for families which involves our educators taking as much time as needed to get to know our new families and children. 

We are National & State winners for Family Choice award for 2018 & 2019 and we also won best practice award for Employee Engagement in 2019.

We also have been rated excellent in NQS by ACECQA. This rating celebrates excellence in the delivery of education and care. The rating recognises providers and educators using innovative practice to achieve significant improvements for:

◾ the local community and/or organisations
◾ the wider education and care sector.
