Quality Childcare and Early Learning in Goodstart Algester!

Located next to Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Goodstart Early Learning Algester is a welcoming childcare centre where children are encouraged to learn, explore and build confidence at their own pace.

Our experienced educators develop strong, lasting relationships with children and families, creating a sense of belonging from the very beginning.

With a diverse, multicultural community and strong connections with local schools and community organisations, children have opportunities to learn both within the centre and as part of the wider Algester community.

  • Long-standing educators who know your family – with several educators who have been part of the centre for 5, 10 and 20 years, children benefit from familiar, trusted relationships and a strong sense of belonging.
  • Multiple Early Childhood Teachers – our Bachelor-qualified teachers support high-quality early learning and help children build the skills, confidence and independence they need for their next step.
  • Strong local school connections – our relationships with four local schools help connect children's early learning experiences with the wider community and support their transition to school.
  • Learning beyond the centre – Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten children enjoy weekly park excursions, while Toddlers take part in Mainly Music each Friday.
  • Regular experiences and incursions – children enjoy weekly soccer incursions, monthly visits to Opal aged care and opportunities to participate in local community markets throughout the year.
  • A genuinely multicultural community – educators speak Arabic, Cantonese, Chinese, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi, Gujarati and Sinhala, supporting communication, connection and culturally responsive learning.
  • A child-led approach to learning – play, exploration and hands-on experiences help children develop their interests, strengths and confidence through meaningful experiences.

Our programs are designed around each child's interests, strengths and stage of development, with educators creating opportunities for children to investigate, experiment, create and solve problems through play.

Children can enjoy a range of indoor and outdoor learning experiences, including sand play, gardening, digging, sensory exploration and imaginative play. Our outdoor spaces provide room to move, discover and connect with nature, while experiences such as the mud kitchen, vegetable patches and worm farms encourage children to learn through hands-on exploration.

Families are an important part of our community, and we value the long-term relationships we build with them. Regular communication helps families stay connected to their child's learning and wellbeing, while our strong community relationships give children opportunities to see themselves as active members of their local community. Being close to local schools, community spaces and Holy Spirit Anglican Church also gives our centre a strong connection to the neighbourhood.

Ranjita Sahota

Centre Director
Hello, I’m Ranjita Sahota, and I am proud to be the Centre Director at Goodstart Algester.

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to our community. My journey has taken me across countries and cultures born in India, I spent 18 years in New Zealand before moving to Brisbane . Along the way, I’ve built over 18 years of experience in early childhood education, leadership, and regulatory practice. For me, early learning is about more than education it’s about building a strong sense of belonging for every child and family who walks through our doors.

I am a Registered Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, which has strengthened my commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. My professional journey has included roles as an educator, curriculum manager, and senior advisor. These experiences have shaped my leadership approach and deepened my understanding of what excellence looks like in early childhood education. I am particularly passionate about supporting educators to grow, building strong teams, and ensuring high standards in both practice and compliance.

I believe that children thrive when they feel safe, respected, and connected. Strong, genuine relationships form the foundation of everything we do. My focus is on creating inclusive, nurturing environments where every child is encouraged to explore, express themselves, and develop confidence. I value working in partnership with families and educators, knowing that collaboration is key to achieving the best outcomes for children.

Being part of the Goodstart Algester community is something I truly value. Every day brings opportunities to connect with families, celebrate diversity, and support children as they discover the world around them. Watching children develop friendships, build confidence, and engage in meaningful learning experiences is what motivates me every day.

At home, I am a parent to three children, including two teenagers, which certainly keeps life busy and full of learning moments. I am also a mindfulness coach, meditation guide, and breathwork facilitator. Supporting others to find calm and balance is something I deeply enjoy whether through structured practice or simple everyday moments of pause and reflection.

As Centre Director, I am committed to creating a welcoming, high-quality environment where every child feels valued and supported.

I believe in open communication, strong relationships with families, and working together to support each child’s unique journey. My goal is to ensure your child feels confident, secure, and excited to learn each day.

I look forward to meeting you and your family and welcoming you into our centre.
