Goodstart Early Learning - Childcare Centre Blakeview
Goodstart Blakeview is a very family orientated child care centre located in the growing suburb of Blakeview and is surrounded by schools in a friendly and tight knit community.
Our caring, long term, dedicated educators create a homey atmosphere in the centre. We provide our families with a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Many friendships have flourished and we find that families have stayed on and keep coming back as additions are made to their family. One of the activities that sets us apart is our morning breakfast, not only for children but for parents that may be in a rush on their way to work. This is just one example of the many ways we aim to make families feel like they are a part of their child’s day.
Most of the educators at Goodstart Blakeview have been here for an average of 6 to 8 years and some over 10 years.
Educational programs such as the Early Years Learning Framework are fun, exciting and are provided to all the children to help enrich and further their development. As a team we work with you to ensure that your child's individual needs are met day by day. We also have pets at the centre and the children love to care for them each day.
We take pride in our child care centre and the care and resources we provide. We continually provide families opportunities for feedback and hope that your time with us is enjoyable.
Hi I’m Melissa and I’ve been at this centre since 2000, and took up the position of Centre Director in 2011. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services and look forward to further study when my youngest child begins school.
I have lived, studied and worked in Blakeview for nearly 21 years. I’ve seen so much new development and positive changes in the community and find it an exciting place to live and raise a family. It’s very central and I enjoy the sporting community that my children are involved in.
I’m passionate about providing high quality care to the children and working with the families to ensure they feel like they’ve been a part of their child’s day. I want the families to enjoy early learning and understand that we’re helping their child to be all they can be. I find it exciting and rewarding to watch the children grow from babies right through to school and to see the confidence they’ve gained along the way.
I have three children of my own ranging in ages from one to 10. I find that my understanding of their development has changed so much over this decade. I’ve learnt how important it is to take time and not to rush anything. And to give children a chance to learn and to ask for help when they need it.
Outside the centre, I have helped coach netball and my husband is involved in the local sporting club. I love the outdoors and take every opportunity to get my children and myself outside to explore and learn new things.
I look forward to welcoming your family to our centre and am sure you’ll appreciate the unique and homely feel when you walk through the door.
