Rebecca Forster

Centre Director

Hello, I’m Rebecca Forster and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Wangaratta – Williams Road.

I hold a Diploma in Childrens services and have been in the Early Childhood Industry for approx. 17 years. I have undertaken all roles that are required within a service, but throughout most of my career, I have worked predominately with under 2-year-olds, or in a management position. I have loved my time in the industry thus far, and I am excited for the journey I am taking with Goodstart.

I began my career in the hopes to make a different in children’s lives, as I believe that the first five years are the most important not only for physical and cognitive development but also for the children’s wellbeing, social and emotional development. I am a strong believer that having a strong foundation, will set children up to succeed and thrive, and I am excited to be apart of an enriching learning environment that promotes positive life-long skills.

I am extremely thankful to be apart of a learning community where children’s questions, families’ expectations and Educators knowledge all have a respected place. I look forward to continuing to develop the respectful partnerships that are required with children, families and the wider community, as it is these meaningful relationships that will help us to create the best possible start for our children, as well as a positive experience for all our families.

On a personal note, I am a mum of three, with only one left in the nest. I have had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mum with my older children and this is what led me to pursue my career in the early years industry. I loved watching the world through my children’s eyes, and the wonder they expressed as they explored their world. I loved the way their little brains absorbed so much in such a short amount of time, and it made me realise that I had a passion for early childhood education and I have not looked back since.
