Goodstart Early Learning Cairns is located on Sheridan Street, Cairns and caters for children six weeks to five years. The centre boasts five spacious rooms complete with separate yards for the various age groups.
The centre was originally opened in July 1994, and in 2005 we were welcomed into the Goodstart family and received a renovation of the building. Goodstart Early Learning Cairns underwent Accreditation in April 2009 and passed with High Quality results.
Goodstart Early Learning Cairns has a dedicated team of 13 qualified, long term employees who make the centre an excellent early childhood facility. We have a qualified team of relief staff who work with the carers to ensure they are supporting each child's development.
The dedicated staff at Goodstart Early Learning Cairns work with families to ensure each child is given the best learning opportunities through play based activities. The centre follows the Early Years Leaning Framework and each activity supports our children's development.
The centre believes in the Open Door Policy. We invite parents to “stay and play” with their children so that they can become involved in the childcare environment.

Hi, my name is Kristi Wilson and I am the Centre Director here at Goodstart Early Learning Cairns.
I graduated from High School in 2002 and began a traineeship as a childcare assistant. After completing my Certificate III in Children’s Services in early 2004, I left Australia and went to the United States as a nanny, living and working in Northbrook IL, LeRoy NY and Jacksonville FL. I cared for up to three children aged between four and 14 years and studied Psychology at the local University.
I returned to Australia in June 2005 and started back at the centre I had worked at previously, taking on the position of bus driver. At the end of 2005 I enrolled in my Diploma in Children's Services and became the Toddler Group Leader. In January 2007 I began to train as 2IC and filled in when the Centre Director was away.
In August 2008 I began as Centre Director here at Goodstart Early Learning Cairns. I have enjoyed watching the children grow and being a part of their learning journey. I now hold my Advanced Diploma in Children's Services.
On the weekend I enjoy travelling, spending time with family and friends, boating, listening to music and dancing.
