About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Stratton is situated minutes from the Swan Valley with views overlooking the Perth Hills and surrounding bush lands for all to enjoy. We are located close to local schools and shops as well as transport routes, making the daily drop-off and pick-up convenient and stress-free.

We are a 97 place purpose built child care centre with modern facilities, featuring five large, age appropriate rooms with a great variety of equipment available for use of both indoors and outdoors.

Our program at Goodstart Stratton is a culturally competent holistic program incorporating all aspects of a child’s developmental domains. It is reflective of the elements of the Early Years Learning Framework – belonging, being and becoming. We believe these outcomes are the backbone in ensuring we are providing our children with the best possible start in life to prepare them for their future.

We take pride in providing a warm, secure, and nurturing environment for our children, ensuring the atmosphere is both friendly and inviting. Our aim is for each child to experience happiness and enjoyment throughout their time with us.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, gardens and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.

Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.

During the year we take part in special events such as the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea, our End of Year Celebration, Open Days and Parent Information Evenings.

We look forward to meeting you and your family at Goodstart Stratton and exploring how we can support you through the early learning adventure.

Joanna Gill

Centre Director

Hello and welcome to Goodstart Stratton!

My name is Joanna, and I am honoured to introduce myself as the new Centre Director here at Goodstart Stratton. I bring with me a deep passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for every child and family.

I have been working in the Early Childhood Industry for over 27 years. I have worked across a broad range of early childhood settings—including family day care, long day care, and out of school hours care. This experience has given me a comprehensive understanding of the different ways children grow, learn, and thrive, and it continues to fuel my dedication to providing high-quality care and education.

One of my core beliefs is that strong, meaningful partnerships with families and the wider community are essential for a child’s development. Building authentic, trusting relationships with children, families, and educators is at the heart of everything I do. I truly believe that when we work together, we can create a powerful support network that helps each child reach their full potential.

I also want to acknowledge the strength and dedication of the existing team here at Goodstart Stratton. Together, we are committed to continuing the incredible work already happening at our centre.
Importantly, we recognise that our centre is located on Whadjuk land, and we pay our deepest respects to the Whadjuk Noongar people—the Traditional Custodians of this land. As part of our reconciliation journey, we are committed to learning from and walking alongside our First Nations families and community members with respect, honesty, and an open heart.

I look forward to meeting you and your family, and to building a strong partnership based on trust, respect, and shared goals for your child’s future.
