Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Woolner is located in a convenient spot, close to local schools and shops as well as community amenities.

We provide high quality early learning and care from birth to five years. Our centre provides long day care with convenient hours, open Monday to Friday from 6.45am to 5.30pm (except public holidays). We can help you find the right session for your family as we offer 9 hour, 10 hour and all day sessions to help you make the most of your Child Care Subsidy.

Our centre has started to implement Key Educators to help children build secure attachments and relationships with educators and so they have a sense of belonging. Each child will get a Key Educator to help them start their journey into our centre.

Children at the centre will have access to engaging early childhood learning experiences and curriculum developed and delivered by experienced teachers through the Early Years' Learning Framework. Programs will be designed to foster each child’s individual needs and interests.

Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.

This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.

Outside, we have age-appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.

Our centre environment and natural surroundings supports progressive indoor and outdoor programs for children to play, learn and explore. The environment will enhance children’s social/emotional, cognitive, language and physical aspects.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.

Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.

Centre Director

My name is Sherre and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Woolner. I was born in Darwin and have been here my whole life. I completed my Diploma of Children Services in 2011. I have worked in the Early Learning sector for 12 years and in those 12 years I have worked various roles from the Kitchen to Centre Director.

I have had a passion for working with children my whole life. I love supporting children and being there to help them along their journey through life. I think the relationships with the families is just as importing as they are the children’s first teachers in life.
