About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Beachmere

Goodstart Early Learning Beachmere is located in a quiet, coastal suburb just 15 minutes from the Caboolture CBD. Conveniently situated near local schools, shops, and the beach, our centre offers a welcoming, accessible environment for families in the community.

Our dedicated team of qualified and experienced educators is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can grow and develop at their own pace. We take great pride in fostering secure relationships and promoting positive social interactions, supporting each child’s sense of belonging and wellbeing.

Our learning environments—spanning from Nursery through to Kindergarten—are purposefully designed in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), incorporating a variety of sensory and play-based experiences that stimulate curiosity, exploration, and creativity. Each room is thoughtfully arranged to support developmental milestones and encourage independence, problem-solving, and collaboration.

We value strong communication and genuine partnerships with families. Through our use of Storypark, emails, face to face communication, we maintain consistent, transparent communication, ensuring families are involved in their child’s learning journey. This ongoing dialogue enables us to tailor learning programs that reflect each child’s interests, strengths, and cultural background, supporting inclusive and individualised planning.

Our two outdoor play spaces are thoughtfully designed with age-appropriate equipment and natural features, including sandpits, barked areas, shaded spaces, and gardens. These areas provide rich opportunities for imaginative exploration, sustainability learning, and physical development in a natural environment.

As a community-focused service, we actively engage with local organisations and encourage participation in centre-based events throughout the year. These connections enrich our curriculum and support children’s understanding of the world around them. Daily, we offer a range of play-based, interest-driven experiences that empower children to express their creativity and agency.

At Goodstart Beachmere, we uphold an open-door policy and place high value on family involvement and community engagement. We believe that collaborative partnerships are fundamental to supporting children’s learning and development, and we invite families to contribute to our program and participate in centre life.

We welcome you to visit our centre, meet our passionate team, and experience first-hand our commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.

Shelley Hanrahan

Centre Director

My name is Shelley Hanrahan, and I am proud to be the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Beachmere.

Since joining the Beachmere team in 2013, I have progressed through various roles—from Educator to Educational Leader and Assistant Director—before stepping into my current leadership position. This journey has provided me with a deep understanding of our centre’s culture, values, and the unique needs of our children and families.

My professional philosophy is grounded in the principles of the Circle of Security, which emphasises the importance of strong, secure relationships between children and their trusted adults. I believe educators play a vital role as a secure base—someone children can confidently explore the world from and return to when support or reassurance is needed. This approach forms the foundation of our centre’s relational pedagogy.
I also draw upon Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, which highlights the significance of nurturing positive, responsive relationships between children, their families, educators, and the broader community. I believe the way we support and interact with families directly influences a child’s wellbeing, identity, and development. Therefore, our practices must be respectful, inclusive, and reflective of the diverse cultures, values, and expectations of the communities in which we live and work.

At Goodstart Beachmere, our educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Version 2.0, using the principles, practices, and learning outcomes to create high-quality, meaningful, and play-based learning experiences. We acknowledge that play is central to children’s learning, providing opportunities to investigate, explore, and make sense of their world in ways that are joyful, empowering, and developmentally appropriate.

Our curriculum is shaped by a deep understanding of the EYLF developmental milestones, which inform our intentional teaching strategies and ensure that each child’s growth is nurtured across all domains—social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. We use these milestones to guide observations, plan individualised learning pathways, and support each child to reach their full potential.

As a centre, we proudly uphold Goodstart’s commitment to inclusive practices, ensuring that every child is seen, heard, and valued. We create environments and learning experiences that reflect and celebrate diversity, challenge stereotypes, and support children in developing a strong sense of identity, belonging, and fairness.

As Centre Director, I am committed to leading with purpose—inspiring, mentoring, and supporting my team to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and families. I set clear goals to achieve high standards of education and care and promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional excellence.
Above all, I am passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with families and fostering a learning community that embraces inclusion, curiosity, respect, and play.

I invite you to visit Goodstart Beachmere and experience first-hand our commitment to high-quality early learning, family partnerships, and the wellbeing of every child.
