Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre North Mackay is an 86 place centre located in a commercial / residential area close to main roads, transport, shops and schools.
We cater for children from 0years to 5 years - including a strong Kindergarten room - and our educators ensure all children's needs and interests are met through our Early Years' Learning Framework curriculum. We have an Early Childhood Teacher in the kindergarten room who is currently studying and we are advertising for another teacher to take on the Pre-Kindergarten Room.
Both indoors and outdoor - the educator team provide engaging play-spaces where children learn through play. Our educators especially enjoy forming friendships with all of the children in their care and their families.
Colourful and stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.
Our three playgrounds offer each of our age groups opportunities to build on their physical skills with sandpits, gardens, lots of grassed area to run and play, climbing and play equipment and lots of shade.
A major focus for our centre is to become an integral part of the community. We believe that by working with the broader community it can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through inviting visitors to the centre as well as organising external excursions and participation in community events we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community. This then in turn teaches the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
Our families enjoy coming together for our centre events, including mother's day morning tea, father's day morning tea, grandparent's day and the centre Christmas party.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.
