About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Richmond.

At Goodstart Richmond, our centre is dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children from six weeks to school aged.

We offer long daycare and kindergarten programs and our play-based learning programs are designed to promote:  

A child’s natural sense of enquiry
Literacy, numeracy and social skills
Creativity, problem solving and resilience

These are all critical skills needed for school and life. Quality play-based learning gives children hands-on exploration of the world around them.

We believe every child holds the right to develop at their own pace physically and cognitively. I believe to achieve this adequately you need to provide a fun happy and loving environment where every single child feels comfortable and supported.
Our Key educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
Goodstart Early Learning Richmond has a natural and homely environment and is in central Richmond.
Inviting, engaging, and age appropriate learning environments ensure the children in our care have a chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring all children’s interests and needs are met at all times.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. The centre has a working worm farm, and three vegetable plots which help to provide seasonal produce for our centre menu. 
Yes we offer a state approved funded kindergarten program.

Brock McKenzie

Centre Director

Hi, I’m Brock McKenzie and I’ll be the Centre Director at Goodstart Richmond.

I have been working in Early Childhood for six years. Since 2020 I have been the Assistant Centre Director at Goodstart Rosebud, Eastbourne Road. I've also been Assistant Director at Goodstart Mount Martha and Melbourne Central.

I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and am currently studying my Advanced Diploma, I have a passion to further my knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for all children

My Early Learning values:

What excites me about Goodstart Richmond:
Personally, I'm excited for the new opportunity and look forward to building a strong supportive team to help care for and educate local children.
For our community, I’m looking forward to welcoming you to our improved centre and seeing your child smile as they engage in all the wonderful play spaces and learning opportunities we’re creating. Seeing the future generations grow before my eyes and seek out their own interests gives me great job satisfaction and a sense of pride.

A little more about me:
I'm an avid sports fan and when I’m not at Goodstart, you will most likely find me on the cricket pitch, at a golf course or at the MCG. If I’m not at a sporting event, I may be camping across a multitude of areas across Victoria.
