Winning stall at Darwin show for Moulden

Goodstart centres

Nestled in amongst the racing pigs, mouse circus and giant pumpkins, a Goodstart Early Learning stall has won the best community exhibit at the Royal Darwin Show.

Goodstart Early Learning Moulden – Moulden Terrace attracted the punters at the 65th Royal Darwin Show with activities for children including sensory playdough, balloons, iSpy containers, books, toys and mess free painting.

The large, shaded stall also offered visitors bananas, apples, pears and mandarins, and bottles of water to the visiting crowds, thanks to Woolworths, and Bunnings set up 10 tables.

Moulden Terrace centre director Lindsay McDonald said the stall, set up for the first time at the Royal Darwin Show held late last month, was a huge hit.

“The organisers were so pleased with our stand they want to give us a bigger stand next year,” Ms McDonald said.

“Many families who visited the stand said they wished the Royal Darwin Show had something like it earlier, and they now know even more about Goodstart, what we do and our centres in the Northern Territory.”

Families stayed at the stall for an hour on the day, fed their babies, played games, spoke to the educators and went home with plenty of activity ideas.

“We had a lot of comments about the stall,” Ms McDonald said. “They included people saying they really enjoyed chilling out with the kids, and enjoying the fact their children were well catered for.

“Even though it took us a couple of months to organise, we’ll definitely do it again.”
