Goodstart Brisbane Adelaide Street

I’m originally from the vibrant city of Shanghai, China. I hold a Bachelor of Primary Education from the University of Queensland and a Master of Teaching (Primary/Early Years) from Monash University - Melbourne.

My teaching journey began when I moved to Brisbane on my own in 2011 to study at the University of Queensland’s Foundation School. From there, I spent six inspiring years completing my studies and gaining hands-on experience in a variety of primary schools, childcare centres, and community kindergartens across Brisbane and Melbourne. After graduating, I worked as a full-time kindergarten teacher for over four years before stepping into my current role as Assistant Director here at Goodstart Adelaide Street in 2023.

At the heart of my philosophy on Early Childhood Education is a deep respect for each child’s unique identity and socio-cultural background. I believe every child brings their own 'funds of knowledge' shaped by family, culture, and community - and these should be celebrated. I’m passionate about creating inclusive, culturally responsive environments where children can feel safe, valued, and curious.

Early childhood is such a critical time in a child's development, and I’m dedicated to working closely with families to support children’s learning and spark their natural curiosity. By focusing on strong, respectful relationships and child-centred practices, we can help every child thrive in their first five years and beyond.

Goodstart’s mission deeply resonates with me.
