About Goodstart Norfolk Village
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Norfolk Village is a purpose-built child care centre, just a short drive from the M1, offering flexible care routines and quality educational programs for children aged six weeks to 12 years.
We are a five-room child care centre – catering for Nursery through to Kindergarten - with the addition of before and after school care and vacation care for older children with a bus pick-up service from Ormeau and Norfolk Village state schools. We offer flexible care routines and quality educational programs which focus on all areas of development such as social/emotional skills, maths, science and nature, language and literacy, music and movement, self-help and independence.
Our natural outdoor area includes a raised seasonal vegetable patch where we grow tomatoes, strawberries, potatoes, cucumbers and squash which are used for cooking experiences.
Our kindergarten children enjoy an information technology program with Broadlearn and Letterland activities. They also engage in the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program to ensure they have the skills required for a smooth transition to school. The program is available to all four to five year olds attending Goodstart Norfolk Village and is delivered by our university qualified teachers. All of our programs align to the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines. We also offer extracurricular activities such as Intro Tennis, a Future Champs health and physical education program, and yoga.
We believe the rights of the child are paramount and encourage children to be successful, capable and confident learners. We value equity, inclusion and diversity as well as Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
At Goodstart Norfolk Village, our educators work collaboratively with families and engage with the local community to create environments and programs that are inclusive, stimulating and enriching. The centre aims to promote safety, security and respect whilst providing opportunities for freedom, exploration, challenges and learning. We ensure that the role of parents is respected and supported and have high expectations for children, educators and internal service providers, and pride ourselves on our quality interactions with the children and quality programs..
The recent introduction of the online platform Storypark allows educators to document and share children’s learning easily and efficiently whilst providing real-time opportunities to connect and communicate with families.
At Goodstart Norfolk Village, our vision is to work with families to support their children and foster imagination, ignite natural curiosities and instil a sense of wonderment.
