Goodstarter of the Year: Feny Belinda, the heart of Goodstart Melbourne
A national Goodies Award in 2025, recognising extraordinary community impact.
At Goodstart Shailer Park, we take children’s play very seriously and are proud to have created a centre that affords children the right to a natural childhood. If you think of your own childhood, it would be a safe bet that many of us would reflect on our fondest memories as being outside and playfully risky! Right?
We create deliberate spaces in our environment where children “feel” like they are hidden, for it is within the nooks, crannies and quiet spaces that children get to truly be. It is why we allow children to explore risk in healthy and age-appropriate ways. We climb trees, crates and hammer nails and play in puddles!!
It’s why our doors to the playgrounds are rarely, if ever closed! Did you know that 90% of the brain develops in the first five years? Did you also know that what the brain learns in these years set the trajectory for social and emotional behaviour patterns throughout the lifespan? We know it, and that is why we take the job of growing brains here, very seriously!
At Goodstart Shailer Park we have many partnerships in the Logan area. We work closely with many community organisations and can always offer links to support as the need may arise.
We acknowledge the Jagera and Yugambeh Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our child care centre is built. We pay respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge the teaching and learning that has taken place on this Land for thousands of years.
We look forward to meeting you and your family soon! Come in and meet the team, take a tour and see how we can work together to give your child the best possible start in life.

I have a Bachelor of Child and Family Studies and am a trained Forest School Leader too!
During my career I have had the opportunity to work with different age groups and across a variety of areas in the sector.
Being a mother myself, I completely understand the pressure of choosing the right early learning centre for your child.
Natural play and making the most of the outdoor space is central to our teaching principles and I am a strong believer in ensuring every child understands the world around them.
We see the centre as an extension of the home environment; a place where children feel safe, secure and nurtured.
I am fortunate to work with a highly qualified and experienced team, whose passion for the industry and their roles therein is matched by a commitment to giving the children the highest quality learning experiences.
We look forward to meeting you and being a part of your child’s early education!

At Shailer Park, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
