Our service provides play-based learning, where our highly experienced and qualified team cater to each child’s stage of development, from ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
Our curriculum is based around the Early Years Learning Framework, providing play-based learning within natural learning environments where our educational program focuses on each child’s individual needs, interests, and strengths, making learning an enjoyable experience for all children.
Goodstart Braddon provides a nurturing family-like environment for all children entrusted in our care and their families. We recognise that family is the most important and influential aspect in the lives of young children and the significance of this relationship cannot be underestimated. Through our partnerships and strong relationships with families, we will work towards complementing the home environment and creating a ‘second home’ where all educators, children and their families feel safe, secure, loved, respected, and nurtured, ensuring each child has a strong sense of identity and trust.
We focus on ensuring all children are given the best support to ensure a smooth transition from early learning to school, paying attention to social and emotional wellbeing, as well as literacy and numeracy skills. The program at Goodstart Braddon is guided by the children, developing their interests, and extending these through opportunities and experiences provided by our educators. This learning will embrace each child’s individuality, while fostering their growth. Our curriculum reflects the knowledge that children are active participants and collaborators, allowing for more individualistic and meaningful involvement by each child.
We at Goodstart Braddon recognise the importance of community, both in and out of the service. We believe that children should feel connected to Place and support them to understand and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the first and traditional owners of this land, through exploration and interaction with our local community.
We embrace the cultural diversity within our service and value and respect families and the local community, pledging to work alongside them to provide children with avenues to “Be”, “Belong” and “Become”. We have a strong sense of community as we connect with our local community to enhance children's inclusion, learning and wellbeing to support children to be active participants in their world. We have highly qualified educators and Bachelor qualified teachers across the service, ensuring your child is provided the best learning possible.
Goodstart Braddon is truly a fantastic environment for children of all ages, cultures, developmental levels, and temperaments! This spectacular childcare centre is a wonderful way to educate your child in a fun, friendly, professional, and nurturing environment.

Hi my name is Riccardo Martiniello and I have joined as the new Centre Director for Goodstart Braddon, commencing 4th of May 2026.
I am grateful to be rejoining Goodstart, having previously worked at Goodstart Isaacs as Assistant Director and Early Childhood Teacher in 2015 until 2019.
I bring a combined 15 years of experience as a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and also working in varying leadership roles within Early learning centres throughout Canberra. I have a passion for service compliance and take children's safety and wellbeing very seriously, being an Uncle and older brother to my now 18 year old sister, I understand the importance of instilling trust and confidence in parents/guardians in choosing Goodstart as a place to Educate and care for their child/ren.
I have strong experience working with a trauma informed framework, embedding Inclusive practices for all children and I bring a history of successfully supporting small and large teams to navigate change, raise standard of practice across the 7 quality areas of the National Quality framework and promote a strong and positive working culture within a team. Part of my leadership approach is to identify educators passions and incorporate these into the programs with children.
I am passionate about creating intentional and aesthetically pleasing learning environments which incorporate the "loose parts theory," and promote children to problem solve, hypothesis, boost creativity and build social skills amongst children.
I look forward to showing you around Braddon, and sharing more about what we have on offer for you and your family.

A little bit about me: I am a warm, caring and enthusiastic person who enjoys spending time with my family, travelling, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and cooking. I love learning new things and building meaningful relationships with others.
I have been part of the Goodstart community since 2008. Before moving to Australia, I worked as a high school teacher in Sri Lanka for 12 years. These experiences have helped me become a confident, reflective and adaptable teacher and have given me a strong understanding of children’s learning and development.
I am a strong believer in the Reggio Emilia approach and see children as capable, curious and competent learners. I particularly enjoy project-based learning, where children can follow their interests, ask questions, explore ideas and learn through hands-on experiences.
I am passionate about the first five years of children’s learning and believe these years provide the foundations for lifelong learning. My goal is to build strong relationships with children, listen to their voices, nurture their individual strengths and support them to develop confidence, independence, resilience and a genuine love of learning, helping them feel ready for school and beyond.

At Braddon, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a preschool program and long day care under the one roof. Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
