Goodstart's transfer offer made Lorelle's relocation easy and stress-free. That's just one of the perks of working within a large organisation like Goodstart: with more than 650 centres, we offer plenty of opportunities for secondments and possible relocation packages.

Teaching career journey in early learning
Lorelle has been at Goodstart Morwell for 10 years
As a primary teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching, I mainly taught in the P-12 space on the Mornington Peninsula and in the Bayside area.
During maternity and family leave with my two young daughters, I became interested in early childhood education - particularly play-based preschool and the early school years.
While pregnant with my son, I taught kindergarten in remote WA, the Kimberley.
After he was born, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, graduating in 2012.
I then taught kindergarten in the Perth school system before joining Goodstart in 2014 as a kindergarten teacher.
At the time, I helped pioneer the role of teachers in long day care centres.
While teaching kindergarten in Perth, I advocated for the recognition of quality preschool programs outside of schools, growing enrolments from 10 in my first year to 30 just five years later.
Moving interstate for an abundant family life in Morwell
I grew up and went to school on the Mornington Peninsula. My husband's family had property around Hallston/Mirboo North in South Gippsland, where we frequently visited with our young daughters.
We travelled Australia - mainly WA - for several years, adding a son to our family before returning to our property in South Gippsland just after COVID.
We enjoy country living, the quiet, and the variety of beautiful landscapes across South Gippsland, the Valley, and Baw Baw. Highlights include farm life, visiting markets, and dining in quaint pubs across the region.
My children, now 16, 21, and 22, enjoy camping, motocross, four-wheel driving, and visiting national parks. I love roaming small towns like Yarragon, Meeniyan, Rosedale, and Heyfield. The Gippsland Lakes, Ninety Mile Beach, and Tarra-Bulga National Park offer endless opportunities for exploration.
Gippsland Lakes is a great spot not far from Morwell. One of the many beautiful places to spend time in, in VIC East
Finding a home with Goodstart - a workplace for purpose and growth
Goodstart made my move back across the country easier and stress-free through a transfer.
There are many opportunities for role expansion and variety in both WA and Victoria - I have been an Autism Champion, Teacher Mentor, Safety Champion, Acting Assistant Director, and Educational Leader.
Goodstart also offers excellent professional development opportunities and conferences, which are fun, valuable for learning, and great for networking and reconnecting with colleagues.
Here at Morwell, I love the relationships we have with the community and families, as well as the emotional, physical, and financial support we provide through initiatives like fun educational evenings (Pizza and Play), Food Bank, and parenting advice or referrals.
South Gippsland offers abundant beauty and nature for exploration - from four-wheel driving to camping spots and quaint, charming Australian towns
