No-cost diploma an outstanding opportunity

Careers and employment

Educators at Goodstart Early Learning have a major advantage over other childcare providers– access to the Goodstart Institute of Early Learning.

The Institute offers educators the chance to undertake diploma studies – all at no extra cost – a saving of about $11,600.

If you already hold a Certificate Three in Early Childhood Education and Care and work at Goodstart Early Learning, you can apply to study for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

The Department of Education and Training MySkills website reports the average price of a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care in 2017 is $11,600.

Goodstart Institute of Early Learning Paul Goudie national manager said the opportunity for educators to enrol in the diploma at no cost was an amazing opportunity to practice new skills and to deepen their understanding of early childhood education.

“It’s delivered online to make it easier to juggle work and personal commitments whilst studying and you will be taught by trainers who are highly experienced and industry-skilled professionals,” Mr Goudie said.

The diploma is a national-accredited qualification creating pathways for career progression and future study.

Diploma-qualified educators can expand their career opportunities in various leadership roles in the centres such as room leader, educational leader, centre director and other management roles.

“We are giving our educators the chance and ability to learn new skills and deepen their practice,” Mr Goudie said.

“Once an educator graduates with a diploma from the Institute, which will take between 12 to 18 months to complete, they can learn management skills, and then move on to a Bachelor degree.”

Goodstart Institute’s Diploma of Early Childhood Education aligns with Goodstart Early Learning’s innovative Practice Guide, which was developed to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.

Goodstart Early Learning is Australia’s largest early learning provider with 645 centres through the country. The not-for-profit social enterprise exists purely to improve the lives of Australia’s children and their families.
