About Goodstart Andergrove
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Andergrove is located in a quiet, family orientated area north of Mackay. Close to private and public schools as well as frequent public transportation, Goodstart Andergrove is conveniently accessible - making the daily drop off and pick up stress-free.
Our child care centre provides quality education and care for children aged six weeks old to school age. We are proud to support families from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and seek cultural resources through Noah's Ark and Mackay Inclusion support where necessary, in order to include and support every child's learning.
With a number of long serving educators and a majority of educators who have either completed or are studying towards their Diploma of Children's Services, our service aims to support children's learning through high quality interactions, experiences and opportunities. We also have an Early Childhood Teacher who runs the Kindergarten Program five days per week.
At Goodstart Andergrove, we believe that communication between families, children and Educators is the key to success! Our educators at Goodstart Andergrove work closely with families to ensure that routines are followed as best as possible and time is taken to get to know each child - their likes, dislikes, backgrounds, individual needs and interests. We endeavor to keep families up to date through regular parent newsletters and through an email distribution list. Families are encouraged to speak with our Centre Director or room educators at any time, always maintaining confidentiality.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our play areas have sandpits, natural play areas, climbing equipment and are changed about frequently to align with the teaching and programs under way.
We believe that supporting our local community and culture is vital. We enjoy inviting our local community and families into our child care centre to share knowledge, skills and culture as this open's the children's eyes to the world around them, which is important in their learning journey.
Our vision is to build respectful relationships that delight in creative fun and imaginative play.
We look forward to meeting you and your family soon! Come in and meet the team, take a tour and see how we can work together to give your child the best possible start in life.
