About Goodstart Box Hill Canterbury Road
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Box Hill – Canterbury Road is positioned on the inbound side of Canterbury Road located within minutes of parks, local primary schools and Blackburn South Shopping Precinct. There is a bus stop just across the road, and the nearest train station a short five minute drive.
Our purpose built centre began operating with just four rooms back in the 1990's and was extended to include a further two rooms nearly eight years ago. Catering for children from birth to school age, we provide early education and Kindergarten to over two hundred families each week.
We have a wonderful team of qualified educators, many that have been with us for a number of years and some that have dedicated up to twelve years. With so much experience, and a strong sense of importance within our centre, our team collaborates to share skills such as additional languages, cultural knowledge and educational strategies. Our three year old Kindergarten and our four year old Kindergarten are run by Bachelor Qualified Teachers, and are supported by Diploma Qualified assistants.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. We have three play areas with sandpits, vege patches, cubbyhouse, fort, undercover deck and lots of shade and space to run!
We have a qualified cook who cooks fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day. The centre provides all meals during the day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Families in our area comprise of many cultures and economic positions. Our centre works with other services in the region to meet the diverse needs of all families, and support children to find their own identity within their community. Through everyday conversations, our parent notice boards, pockets, information nights and e-mail communication, we share information about opportunities for support, resources and activities and networking.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
We believe the quality of care, education, resources and educators is evident from the moment that you enter our doors. Our families often tell us how welcome they feel in our centre, and how excited they are to offer their children the opportunity to grow and learn as part of our play-based program.
We warmly welcome new families, so please stop by! We would love to explore how we can support you and your child on their pathway to lifelong learning.
