About Goodstart Broadmeadow
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Broadmeadow is centrally located in the Newcastle CBD making it a great location for families living and working in surrounding areas. Our child care centre is situated close to Hamilton North and New Lambton public schools, and is walking distance to Broadmeadow train station and public transport services.
Our centre has been converted from an old federation style home which has given it a very unique cottage look and homely feel.
Our well trained and empowered educators are the core of our child care centre. We recognise that team work is vital in ensuring our centre runs efficiently and in the best interest of all children, families and the community. Continuity of educators, together with our values and beliefs provide the foundation for us to work together as a team and deliver high quality care in our Newcastle based child care centre.
We offer a child centred program based upon the principles and practice outlined in the National Early Year's Learning Framework. We work closely in partnership with families to extend children’s individual learning experiences. The educational experiences we offer, support children in developing dispositions for learning and life skills, which aid them in their transition to school and adulthood. Our centre’s vision is ‘to create a caring environment in which all children will thrive’.
Our Storypark platform, as well as emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have two areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. With a balance of manmade and natural play experiences - and a host of features such as gardens, open space for exploring, sandpits and sensory areas - we are able to give the children the freedom to explore and let their imaginations grow, while protecting them and keeping them safe.
Community is very important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We acknowledge and value our own Indigenous heritage and that of the wider community locally, nationally and internationally. We acknowledge that the centre is built on Awabakal land and pay respect to the Aboriginal people past and present.
We look forward to meeting you and your family soon! Come in and meet the team, take a tour and see how we can work together to give your child the best possible start in life.

Mel Wall Centre Director
Hi there! My name is Mel and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Broadmeadow.
I have worked in the child care and early learning industry for almost 20 years and I have held the role of Centre Director at Broadmeadow since 2010.
I have a Diploma in Children’s Services along with current first aid and child protection qualifications. During my career I have had the opportunity to work with different age groups and across the variety of areas in the industry.
I am a mother to two small children so I know, all too well, the importance of giving your child the best possible start in life.
I believe in providing children with a safe, secure, nurturing environment that respects them as individuals and it is my desire that families and their children experience happiness and enjoyment while in the centres care through a stimulating environment that promotes fun and a love for learning.
I am fortunate to work with a highly qualified and experienced team, whose passion for the industry and their roles therein is matched by a commitment to giving the children the highest quality learning experiences.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn a little about how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.
