About Goodstart Broadmeadow
Goodstart Early Learning Broadmeadow is centrally located in the Newcastle CBD making it a great location for families living and working in surrounding areas. We are situated close to Hamilton North and New Lambton public schools and Hunter School of Performing Arts. We are walking distance to Broadmeadow train station and public transport services.
Our centre has been converted from an old federation style home which has given it a unique cottage look and homely feel.
Our well trained and empowered educators are the core of our childcare centre. We recognise that teamwork is vital in ensuring our centre runs efficiently and in the best interest of all children, families, and the community. Continuity of educators, together with our values and beliefs provide the foundation for us to work together as a team and deliver high quality care in our centre.
We offer a child centred program based upon the principles and practices outlined in the National Early Years Learning Framework. We work closely in partnership with families to extend children’s individual learning experiences. The educational experiences we offer, support children in developing dispositions for learning and life skills, which aid them in their transition to school and adulthood. Our centre’s vision is ‘to create a caring environment in which all children will thrive’.
Our Storypark platform, as well as newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor our programs to the children’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as supporting a strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have two areas all with age-appropriate play spaces and equipment. With a balance of manmade and natural play experiences - and a host of features such as gardens, open space for exploring, sandpits and sensory areas. We provide the children with freedom to explore and let their imaginations grow, while protecting them and keeping them safe.
We have committed to teaching children about our world, how we care for it and have sustainable practices that children are engaged in daily to support.
Community is very important to us and through visits to the centre and excursions to participate in events and activities throughout the year enrich learning experiences which support our collaborative community connections. Art and music experiences are provided daily which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We acknowledge and value our own Indigenous heritage and that of the wider community locally, nationally, and internationally. We acknowledge that the centre is built on Awabakal land and pay respect to the Aboriginal people past, present, and emerging. Our centre proudly supporting Reconciliation and has embedded a Reconciliation Action Plan in our centre since 2016.
