About Goodstart Cairns
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Cairns is conveniently located in the central business district of Cairns in Sheridan Street, close to the HMAS Navy Base, airport, hospital and local schools. There’s ample parking available and a bus stop right outside the centre.
Our centre has five spacious rooms - for Nursery to Kindergarten - complete with separate yards for the various age groups. The centre has created natural outdoor environments to enhance the children’s exploration and learning in our shaded spacious individual yards that adjoin each of our five rooms with features such as sandpits, dry creek bed, vege patches, medicinal herb patch, pet quails and guinea pigs.
Our dedicated team of 13 qualified, long term educators make the centre an excellent early childhood facility. In fact, our centre was recently rated as exceeding the National Quality Standards in 2013, demonstrating the high quality early learning experience we offer to families. Our educators are also highly qualified with the majority of educators holding or working towards Diploma level qualifications.
We work with families to ensure each child is given the best learning opportunities through play-based activities. The centre follows the Early Years Leaning Framework and each activity supports the children's development. Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Our Educators pride themselves as being actively involved in all facets of service delivery going above and beyond to create a warm, safe environment for our children, families and community members. With our culturally diverse team of educators sharing their skills and knowledge we are able to support families and children from culturally diverse backgrounds.
The centre believes in an open door policy. We invite parents to ‘stay and play’ with their children so that they can become involved in the early learning environment by observing, participating and contributing to the daily planning and educational opportunities for the children. Many of our families have returned to the centre with their second or third child, which we believe demonstrates how happy they are with the quality of education at our centre.
We would love to see your family soon and we would be very happy to show you around our centre and explore how we can start your child on a wonderful journey of lifelong learning..
