About Goodstart Calliope
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Calliope has a natural outdoor environment and homely inspiring indoor environments. We are located close to the local shops and beside the local council building.
Our centre is very secure. We have pin codes to gain access to our centre and we ensure anyone who we have not seen in the centre before verifies their identity with photo ID. We also have an electronic sign in and out system, verified by an individual’s own phone number and personal pin.
Educators within each room follow the Early Years Learning Framework, and practice the principles embedded in the framework every day. We actively encourage family participation and input and we recognise the value of play-based learning and have embedded the Key Educator Approach at our centre.
Inviting, engaging, and age appropriate learning environments ensure the children in our care have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step to school. We participate in an extensive transition process with the local school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights, centre events and newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor our centres program to each child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. The centre has a working worm farm, a vegetable garden and promote recycling.
We provide all meals which are cooked and prepared on the premises. Our menu rotates with the seasons and is built around highly nutritious foods with minimal refined sugars and preservatives.
Throughout the year we involve the children in a number of different events such as crazy hair day, pyjama day, footy day, celebrating birthdays, Easter and Christmas, and at the end of each year we hold a graduation party for the Kindergarten children who are leaving the centre to transition to primary school to further their education.
Our centre philosophy encourages all children to develop their individuality by expressing themselves through music, art, language, social settings, physical activities, and cognitive and sensory experiences.
We ensure our children feel safe and secure in their environment by providing them with the care they deserve supported by our team of qualified educators.
We invite you to come and visit our centre to meet our team and to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.
