About Goodstart Capalaba Almara Street
Goodstart Capalaba – Almara Street is situated in a quiet residential street located close to Capalaba College and the Capalaba Shopping Centres but away from the busyness of the main road. This purpose built centre is a hidden gem that a lot of people don’t realize is tucked into the discrete location.
The centre has five rooms consisting of Nursery – 0 to 2years, Toddlers – 0 to 2 years, Senior Toddlers 2 to 3 years, Pre-Kindergarten – 3 to 5 years and Kindergarten - 3 to 5 years. The Kindergarten Room offers the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program that is facilitated by our Bachelor of Early Childhood Education trained Teacher Miss Tamara.
The educators within our centre are all highly motivated, dedicated, caring people who
work hard to create an aesthetically pleasing educational environment for our children and families. Every team member has a qualification in early childhood education and care with majority of our educators currently holding a Diploma or higher qualification.
Our indoor educational environments are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all-important step up to school.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. We have gardens, a rockery, a waterway and sandpit that encourages lots of fun and creativity. We also have a bike track for the older children to zip around on.
We also have an on-site cook who prepares a range of nutritious and healthy meals each day, catering for all children’s needs including allergies.
We have great communication opportunities utilizing our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
We keep our centre involved in the wider community by working closely with schools and sporting clubs, and hosting fundraiser and charity events for which we invite community involvement. Families at Goodstart Capalaba - Almara Street come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds, and we maintain close contact with local support and social inclusion services for families to access if needed.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and your family and explore how we can support you on this early learning adventure.

Megan Wright Centre Director
My Name is Megan Wright and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Capalaba – Almara Street.
I have worked within the Early Education and Care Industry for over twelve years and currently hold my Diploma of Early Education and Care, I am also studying my Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management.
I am a mother to two beautiful boys Ryley and Axel. As a mother myself, I know just how important it is for our children to reach their potential within a safe and nurturing environment. I love working alongside families and the wonderfully qualified, passionate educators, to provide the best quality education and care for our children.
I am extremely passionate around the inclusion of all children within the Early Education Industry. I pride myself on how inclusive our centre is to all children of varying needs, cultures, abilities and the collaboration we have with the local communities and allied health professionals.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you and your child on their early childhood journey and your family becoming a part of our happy little community here at Goodstart Capalaba – Almara Street.
