About Goodstart Capalaba Greenup Street
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Capalaba - Greenup Street is in the Redlands district, just minutes from the heart of the Capalaba Business Centre. We are close to local schools and shops.
We believe that family is the most important part of a young child's life and we pride ourselves on our ability to incorporate each family's beliefs and values into our daily programs.
The recent introduction of the online platform Storypark allows educators to document and share children’s learning with families easily and efficiently whilst providing real-time opportunities to connect and communicate with families.
Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
Our Early Childhood Teacher delivers the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten program which is designed to support children’s entry into the schooling system by focusing on the social and emotional readiness for this transition.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.
Kindergarten children have their own outdoor play area, and the new fort, cubby house and shade sails in the playground mean those aged over two can enjoy indoor/outdoor play all day. The children enjoy looking after the vegetable patch the worm farm and using the compost bins to ensure the centre is meeting their sustainability goals.
The centre provides breakfast, morning and afternoon tea and lunch and there is an after school care program for the older siblings. Educators are able to walk to the neighbouring school, Coolnwynpin, to drop off and collect school aged children, making Greenup St a one stop drop and collection point for families accessing the school.
Through the staff's combined wealth of childcare knowledge and years of early childhood experience, we have learnt that children develop to their fullest when their basic needs are met, when they are nurtured by the adults in their environment, and are allowed every opportunity to explore their world.

Kim McLean Centre Director
Hi my name is Kim McLean and I am have been the Centre Director at Capalaba for over 3 years now. I have been working in the childcare industry for 12 years in centres across Brisbane and the Gold Coast and have been lucky enough to work in some amazing centres but none as friendly, professional, dedicated and homely as Greenup Street.
At Greenup Street we provide an environment where families can leave our centre each day feeling and knowing their child is safe, happy, and their wishes and beliefs are respected. This can be seen through our key educator approach as children build secure attachments with their educator which then provides them with the confidence to explore and embrace their environment. The team that I work with also share my passion for guiding and helping children to achieve to their potential. They are dedicated, professional, experienced and highly qualified. We offer two very engaging approved Kindergarten programs and have strong links to the Collnwynpin State School and local community. I welcome you to come and meet the fabulous team here at Greenup St as you and your family start your learning journey.
