About Goodstart Clayfield
Goodstart Early Learning Clayfield is a beautiful three room, open plan boutique centre with a supportive and high qualified team.
The centre was constructed in 1986. The owner/operator at the time was inspired by his own upbringing and designed the centre to reflects his childhood. It is modelled on the "Queenslander" style houses in the area. This is to assist with making the children feel like they are being cared for in a more home-like environment.
The owner at the time had many memories of playing in the local "Kalinga" park and the centre also features a cave for playing hide and seek and a little man-made creek down the side of the centre, which recycles the water used to help embed sustainable practices. As regulations have changed over the years, parts of the centre have been updated to maintain changing safety standards. We've recently had a complete upgrade of our junior playspace for our nursery aged children to enjoy and it features a sandpit, covered decking for outdoor learning and meals and a natural creek bed for exploration.
In recognising children as active participants in their own learning, we believe that children should be encouraged to make meaningful decisions about elements of their own education and care. Goodstart Clayfield has incorporated progressive morning and afternoon tea times into the educational program in every age group. This also encourages quieter, more social and meaningful interactions at these times and allows for a smoother flow throughout the day. Children can make decisions based on their own needs and can be supported to access food and water throughout the day. Children self-serve their lunch, morning and afternoon tea in Kindergarten room and are encouraged to do the same on the junior side also.
Children are offered the opportunity to choose between indoor and outdoor play throughout most of the year, taking into consideration seasonal temperatures and guidelines. Our side yard consists of our “sustainable space” where children have planted their own seedings and watched them grow. Along with this, in this space children are taught about the act of being sustainable, and ways in which they can contribute to a more beautiful Earth. Goodstart Clayfield was a finalist in WasteSMART Kindy award in 2020.
Our centre boasts a beautiful homely environment and we pride ourselves on being one big family. We invite you to come and visit us anytime. We look forward to meeting you!

Miss Denisa Louzecka Centre Director
Ahoj (Hello), my name is Denisa and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Clayfield. I am originally from the Czech Republic but have been living in Australia from 2011 and started working for Goodstart in 2015.
I’m passionate about children and early education as I believe that the first five years of a child’s life is crucial for setting children up on the right path for success. I enjoy watching the children grow and develop and having the opportunity to be actively engaged in their learning.
As a Centre Director, I am fortunate to lead a great team of qualified educators who are dedicated to provide the best possible start to all of our children. Here at our Clayfield centre, we have a wonderful mix of educators, families and children from all over Australia and the world.
We invite you to come and visit our centre to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey. I look forward to meeting you all!
