About Goodstart Dandenong Princes Highway
We are a large, bright and vibrant Centre located close to the CBD of Dandenong. We are close to public transport, schools and East Link. Currently we have 6 spacious age appropriate rooms, where our early learning educators pride themselves on providing a stimulating, educational program in line with the Victorian Early Years’ Learning and development Framework – focusing on children 6 weeks to school age and up to 8 years during school holidays.
Our centre runs a funded Kindergarten program with a fully qualified kindergarten teacher 5 days a week. We can look after your child from 6 weeks until they are ready to start school. They leave us prepared to take on school with confidence. In our Kindergarten program we have started using the Ella program and the children are currently learning French. It is a real hit among the children and the educators alike.
We have a team of educators who speak a variety of languages including Punjabi, Tamil, Hindi, Singhalese, Telugu, Vietnamese, Greek and Hungarian. This puts us in a unique position to help a lot of ESL families in our community.
Our educational programs are based on the children's individual strengths, needs and learning skills and our educators support positive learning, building strong relationships and supporting a strong self-esteem.
This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. Hence, we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensuring parents have peace of mind. The program enables us to time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our outdoor learning spaces have great equipment, and fun things to do that both support children's physical, social and intellectual development.
We have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods and specific dietary requirements.
We constantly support and invite parent input, suggestions and feedback through all communication links. The centre values all input and feel we can build a stronger sense of community within our centre by listening to our families. We have recently opened a community room for parents and support agencies to come together and network within our environment.
Currently we are using this room to hold a weekly playgroup that is run in conjunction with our local Council. We are offering this service to local vulnerable families in our community enhancing our connections with our community. Dandenong Neighbourhood House help us to facilitate a family support group in this space, giving opportunities for local families to improve their situations by way of social interactions and adult classes.
Our Centre holds children’s learning in the highest regard and so we have a Pedagogy Practice Lead and an out of ratio Early Childhood Teacher on our staff who assist in ensuring the learning environment is at its peak. We also have a child and family practitioner, a speech pathologist and an occupational therapist working closely with our educators to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.
We invite you to come and visit our centre to meet our team and to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.
