About Goodstart Deeragun
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Deeragun is located 20 minutes north of Townsville. We are situated in the semi rural area of Deeragun, an idyllic area only minutes from the central business area.
There are two schools near the centre: St Anthony's Catholic College and the Bohlevale School. We provide a morning and afternoon bus service to both schools. We also have a morning bus run to the Bluewater school.
Our centre has a fun and exciting program - in line with the Early Years' Learning Framework - that delivers educational, play-based learning experiences and enables children to build strong friendships and self-esteem.
We run a Government funded Kindergarten program for children between 3.5 and 5 years. This program is run by a qualified Teacher with a Bachelor of Education and is designed to support the children in readiness for Prep.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We are currently in the process of setting up a vegetable and fruit garden to enhance the children's knowledge of where fruit and vegetables come from. Each room will be adding their own special touch to the garden. We will be extending on their knowledge by adding recycling and disposing of our daily scraps into a compost bin which will then generate soil to go back into our garden. This way we can show the children the full cycle of a plant's life.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
As a family we enjoy coming together for many fun and exciting events such as our Easter Bonnet Parade, Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation and Christmas parties. We have fun dressing up for Melbourne cup and Halloween, and support events such as Shave for a Cure, Give me Five for kids, Daffodil Day, Bandanna Day, Red Nose Day, and many more though out the year.
We look forward to meeting you and your family soon! Come in and meet the team, take a tour and see how we can work together to give your child the best possible start in life.
