Kathy Babu Centre Director
Hi my name is Kavitha (Kathy). I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning East Brisbane on a secondment.
I have been working with Goodstart for more than 5 years and in the Early Childhood sector for more than 7 years. I have a very different background - Bachelor’s in physics, Master’s in computers science and Diploma in Early Childhood and Care. I have been working as an Assistant Director for the last 3 years and I currently work as the Assistant Director at Goodstart Adelaide Street.
I hold a certain set of beliefs when it comes to the care and education of young children. I believe that they develop and learn best in a nurturing, safe and healthy environment. I think that the most valuable aspects of Early Childhood Education are their Mental, Physical and Social Learning Environments. I have chosen to work with young children because I want to help them learn in each stage of development. I give great priority and focus on the well-being of children ensuring their basic needs are always being met, in addition to their learning.
I highly prioritize parental involvement, to understand the needs of their children, one must glean as much information as one can. Furthermore, to ensure appropriate development of these children, one must understand the goals their parents intend for them to achieve. Lastly, to achieve these goals, it is important to be proficient in teamwork, working with other staff to ensure a smooth and efficient centre. I hope I can provide the best inclusive support for you and your child.
