About Goodstart Gawler South
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Gawler South was opened in 2006. With a rural aspect but still all the conveniences that come with a good, central location, the centre is located next to the railway station making the daily commute, drop-off and pick-up a whole lot easier!
Our five rooms – Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all appointed to make the most of a highest-quality, play and experience based early education. We don’t do cookie-cutter or one-size-fits-all learning. Instead, we offer a variety of programs, and focus on individualised play-based learning as outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework.
Our outdoor areas – and the sheer size of the space we have for the children – are a wonderful asset to our centre. We have sandpits and paths and lots of tactile, sensory-based environments for the children to explore. Add to that our two chickens and well-stocked vege gardens – and we have a solid base from which to teach about sustainability and the environment.
We invite local organisations such as dentists, police and the fire brigade to visit the children. We also encourage grandparents, relatives and parents to be involved in the centre's activities throughout the year.
One of our staff members is Italian, giving the children a hands-on experience understanding multiculturalism within our society. The children learn Italian at meal times, which they really enjoy.
We understand the importance of communication with our families, and in addition to one-on-one verbal communication we also offer centre newsletters, emails, program journals, child portfolios, and displays of the children’s work throughout the centre.
Come on in and say hello. Let us show you around and discuss how we can help you give your child the best possible start in life.
