About Goodstart Gladstone Beak Street
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Gladstone - Beak Street is conveniently located in one of the growth centres of Gladstone, New Auckland. Our child care centre is in close proximity to several primary schools, parklands, a shopping complex, and the airport. Our service caters for children from six weeks to five years of age.
We have been operating in the Gladstone region for 20 years and we take pride in our community involvement. We provide flexible opening hours to assist working families, a curriculum that supports regional awareness, visits from community representatives and appropriate businesses, and participation in community projects.
Our educators have almost 100 years of collective early learning experience, with many team members having over 10 years’ service at our centre. We believe all children have the right to an education and use 'Being, Becoming and Belonging' (The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia) to guide our practices. We encourage cooperation, respect for the environment, respect for self and others, and trust. We aim to develop a love of nature by working towards environmentally sustainable practices and encourage this to become a lifelong skill.
Our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.
Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, a dry creek bed, vege patch with worm farm and compost area, decking, trees, gardens and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.
Our on-site cook provides a nutritionally balanced menu for the children, and we encourage input and ideas from our families to keep the meals diverse and interesting. As an additional convenience we operate a before and after school pick-up and care service for Clinton State School and St. John the Baptist Primary School.
We build on our relationships with families through regular communication and the involvement of our parents and guardians. We communicate via quality face-to-face conversations, emails, phone calls, easily accessible daily activity logs, individual journals showcasing each child’s development, and regular newsletters distributed to families. We view parents, guardians and the wider community as fundamental partners of our centre, and aim to engage collaboratively through the sharing of ideas, cultures and knowledge.
We welcome new parents to our centre's community, so come in and let us explore how we can support you and your child on this early learning journey.
