At Goodstart Early Learning Kelso – Gilmour Street, we provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where children are supported to grow, learn, discover and create. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and engaged, and when learning experiences reflect their individual interests, strengths and developmental stage. Every child’s learning journey is unique, and we celebrate and support each child as an individual.

Our educational programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and thoughtfully planned by our experienced educators. Each learning space offers a developmentally appropriate program that builds on children’s interests, abilities and emerging skills. Through a balanced approach of educator-guided experiences and child-initiated play, we create rich learning opportunities that support curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.

What truly sets our centre apart is our long-serving and dedicated team. Many of our educators have been part of the Kelso community for over 10 years, bringing deep knowledge, strong relationships and a shared passion for supporting children and families. Our team is caring, experienced and committed to providing the highest quality early learning and care in a warm and trusting environment.

Both our indoor and outdoor learning spaces are designed to encourage learning through play. Children enjoy access to a wide range of open-ended resources that inspire creativity, problem-solving, imagination and exploration. Our large outdoor environments include sandpits, garden beds, loose parts play, climbing areas and play equipment, supporting active play and connection with nature.

Nutritious meals are an important part of children’s wellbeing. All meals are freshly prepared onsite each day by our centre cook, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. Our menus are nutritionally balanced and aligned with health eating guidelines. We are an allergy- and anaphylaxis-aware centre and happily cater for individual dietary needs.

We value strong connections with families and our wider community. Children benefit from regular centre events, excursions and partnerships with local support services, including Bathurst Early Intervention Services, The Benevolent Society and Gowrie Inclusion Agency, ensuring inclusive, responsive support for every child.

In March 2025, our service underwent a partial Assessment and Rating with the Department of Education. We were assessed across four Quality Areas and proudly achieved an Exceeding rating in all areas assessed, reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality practice.
