About Goodstart Tamworth South
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Tamworth South opened its doors in 2005, and has since become an integral part of the Tamworth community, located in a rural / residential area close to local schools and shops as well as main roads and transport routes.
We cater for children aged six weeks to five years across our five rooms (which include two nursery rooms, a toddler room, and two pre-school rooms).
Our professional, dedicated staff all hold a qualification in child-related studies, and nearly all have worked at our service for an extended period of time. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit team, working towards providing the best learning environment for all of the children.
Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
We have a wide variety of families attending our service, and revel in the opportunity to get to know each individual family and cooperate closely with them to get the best outcomes for their children.
Communication is very important to us. We understand how busy our families’ lives are and provide a variety of different communication methods. Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication.
This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our children love our large outdoor play areas, with a dedicated playground for the babies and a separate yard for the toddlers and pre-schoolers – with sandpits, undercover verandahs, vege garden with worm farm and compost bin, fort and lots of shade and space to run around.
We have a qualified cook who provides a nutritiously balanced four week rotating menu, prepared and cooked in our kitchen at the centre. We provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity; and through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community. This helps teach the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
Come in and say hello! We would love to welcome you and your family into our centre.
